Mr. Jean-François Rousseau
Mr. Rousseau brings more than 25 years of experience in the hightech industry. His career started at Lockheed Martin Canada, a major defence systems integrator, first as a systems engineer working on Communications systems for the Canadian Patrol Frigate program of the Canadian navy and later, as a business development manager responsible for diversification activities in non-defence sectors such as Physical Security Systems, Energy Management Systems and Health Care Information Systems.
In his second career, Mr. Rousseau made the successful transition from technology to the business of technology by joining the Société générale de financement du Québec (SGF) one of Québec’s largest investment and industrial holding group. As Vice-President of SGF Tech, the high tech investment division of SGF, Mr. Rousseau was responsible for investment projects in the fields of information technologies, electronics and telecommunications. Mr Rousseau conducted business in more than 15 countries where he managed, negotiated and concluded investment transactions totalling $235 million. While at SGF, Mr. Rousseau was a board member of several high-tech firms both private and public.
Mr. Rousseau is currently the President and CEO of Emergensys since 2004. Emergensys develops and markets fully integrated public safety dispatch and management software for users around the world particularly in countries with emerging economies such as Malaysia, Brazil.
He is a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers, holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from École Polytechnique de Montréal and a Physics Degree from Saint Mary’s University, Nova Scotia. He has also attended the Canadian military academy and served in the Canadian Navy.
